Hallo

Genealogical entries with the surname there from West Prussia and Germany. However, the origin is probably to be found in Germany. Without the personal genealogical research is not possible to accurately statement.

Genealogical records to Kadtke you can find on the following website:

https://familysearch.org/

Around 60 items are listed with the surname Katke in Germany.

Kathke is around 100 entries in Germany.

Kadke two entries.

There are "no" entries in Germany to the spelling Kadtke.

There are about 50 items to KADTKE in the USA. Most in Pennsylvania.

No posts in France, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria and so on.

In Poland there are about 5 entries to Katke and around 25 to Kathke.

For Katka there are then 70 entries in Poland.

KOTTKE around 450 entries in 178 different counties. Most of them federal state Mecklenburg-Vorpommern / Germany.

The etymology of the name: Firstly, there is a metronym Name of Parent (great-great-great (-) grandmother).  The name comes from the name Katherine. The suffix -ke is a diminutive, affectionate form within the meaning of Kathrinchen. The name Katharina derived from classical Greek: katharos =clean; pure: the Pure.

However, I would add that the etymology of the name is not known with certainty. Further details are presented: Kadke, Katke, Kattke. Kottke = Kotte (a small building, house; hut)
